CEBU research methods and software training
About: The Clinical Epidemiology and Biostatistics Unit (CEBU) specialises in biostatistics, epidemiological methods, and data management. As a joint partnership between the Murdoch Children’s Research Institute and The University of Melbourne, CEBU provides expertise and training in these areas to researchers on the Melbourne Children's campus and beyond.
Research methods courses: This series of three courses begins with the development of research questions and study design, then provides a solid introduction to the core concepts of biostatistics, and finally covers the key elements of observational studies including an introduction to regression methods.
Computer software courses: Complementing the research methods program, these courses provide hands-on training in recommended computer software tools, firstly for establishing sound and reliable data capture and management systems (using REDCap) and secondly for data manipulation and analysis (using Stata or R).
