Course name: Foundations in Renal Anatomy and Physiology with Introduction to Renal Impairment
About: This course is for clinicians (medical, nursing, allied health) who care for children with renal impairment. The course provides a foundations of paediatric nephrology by focusing on basic understanding of fluid distribution, renal anatomy and physiology and overview of acute and chronic renal failure.
Intended audience: The module is designed for all clinicians (medical/nursing/allied health) caring for children with renal conditions to support them in optimising patient care and education.
For advanced clinicians in renal care (NB: Foundations in Renal Anatomy and Physiology must be completed first to access the following course):
Course name: Paediatric Renal Conditions and Management
About: This course aims to build on the clinician's foundational renal knowledge by focusing on renal embryology and specific paediatric renal conditions. Participants completing this course will be offered the opportunity to participate in a 2-day renal program where they can attend online via Zoom. These online presentations are delivered by renal consultants and renal nurse coordinators during the 2-day renal program.
The next renal program will run 21st Feb & 28th Feb 2024.
Intended audience: The module is designed for all clinicians (medical/nursing/allied health) caring for children with renal conditions to support them in optimising patient care and education.
Total time: Renal Foundations module (1st module) is 60 minutes. Paediatric Renal Conditions and Management (2nd module) is 90mins (Renal Embryology and Quiz). Attendance to online study days is 20hrs (x2 study days and x3 quizzes).
Cost: $50 ($25 each study day + GST) to attend online program and access recorded presentations.
